Roots musicMusic in Eathorpe

Music has always played a prominent role in the events held in Eathorpe Village Hall. Our last major series of events were the concerts in our Back to the Roots musical season in 2020. The final concert planned for this series (which was to have featured Ric Sanders of Fairport Convention) unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, but we hope to hold this at a later date.

Other concerts held in the hall have featured jazz, rock and other forms of music.

Classical music

It’s probably unique for a small village hall to host concerts by internationally celebrated classical pianists but Eathorpe Village Hall have been delighted to hold a number of concerts featuring Andrean Lazarov, one of the world’s leading interpreters of the piano music of Rachmaninov.

Eathorpe definitely went posh on those occasions!

Eathorpe Arts and Crafts Fair

The Eathorpe Arts and Crafts fair was held in the Village Hall on Sunday, October 15th, from 11am to 3pm. There were plenty of stalls exhibiting some wonderful items, including:

  • Bespoke pet portraits,
  • Bespoke pens,
  • Personalised gifts,
  • Artwork,
  • Upcycled furniture,
  • Prints and cards,
  • Antiques and vintage crockery.

This now is an established village event, held annually.

Other events

Eathorpe Village Hall has hosted many events, from Burns Night suppers, to Spanish and Greek evenings. Our quiz nights have always been very popular, attracting people from the villages around us.

We have also hosted a regular Beer Festival, giving visitors the chance to taste beers and ciders from around the country and, usually, involving entertainment, from Mummers Plays to jazz singers.
